Phantom 4 precision hovering, tap to fly, visual tracking, sport mode and extended flight time makes this the smartest flying camera.
Yes, the Phantom 4 is the drone your buddy has, and loves, and wont stop talking about. Yes, this is the drone that “follows you”. Yes, this is the easiest drone you will ever fly.
It is hard to think that DJI could improve upon the Phantom 3, but they did. They kept everything you love about the Phantom 3 Like:
- GPS Assisted Hovering
- Return to Home
- Intelligent flight battery
- More Flight Time (28 minutes)
- Forward Facing Vision Sensors
- Tap To Fly
- Visual Tracking
- Sport Mode
- Redundant Compass and IMU
The Phantom 4 has vision sensors looking forward and looking down, so you can actually fly this Phantom with out the help of GPS (like indoors, under trees or under bridges). The vision sensors also help you in flight. Using the forward facing vision sensors the Phantom 4 will actually stop if it is going to run into something.
Visual tracking makes you a one man film crew. Draw a box around yourself or your target and the Phantom 4 will handle the tracking.
All the technology above make this phantom excellent for aerial photos and video, but this phantom is actually very good at drone mapping projects. There are several apps that will connect to the Phantom 4 and fly an autonomous mission. With the help of an app your phantom will fly a grid and take overlapping photos. These overlapping photos allow you to create orthomosaic images, 3D digital surface models, and 3D reconstruction of buildings. It may sound crazy to let an app fly your phantom, but don’t worry. You maintain full control of your Phantom 4 during the autonomous flight mapping mission. If a problem arises during the autonomous flight, you simply change the Flight Mode Switch and you are back under manual control.
