The Matrice 600 is DJI’s new flying platform designed for the professional inspection, mapping and survey applications.
The DJI Matrice 600 and a buffalo have a lot in common. They are both big and sturdy, and will not be pushed around by little things like wind or dust. You can count on the Matrice 600 to hold its ground during an inspection, or fight the wind on a survey mission. The biggest difference between the Matrice 600 and the buffalo, is the buffalo is going to do what it wants and the Matrice 600 is going to do what you want.
The M600 is powered by 6 TB47 or TB48 Batteries. These batteries give the M600 up to 40 minutes of flight time, but also allow you to travel by airplane. The new E2000 motors allow the M600 to carry a 12 pound payload. The remote controller will give live video feed out to 2 or 3 miles, and allow for 1 Master and 3 Slave controllers. The M600 comes with one A3 GNSS, but can be easily upgraded to the A3 Pro and D-RTK. The A3 Pro offers redundant GNSS Positioning and IMU for added safety during flight.
The Matrice 600 will support any of the Zenmuse cameras, but also supports larger professional cameras like the Sony A7r, the Cannon 5D, and the Lumix GH4 (pretty much anything under 12 pounds).
DJI Go is a great app on iOS or Android for video and Aerial Photography. The M600 is now supported by some mapping and survey apps. These apps will fly a grid over your area of interest, and allow you to create 3D digital surface models and aerial images.
On top of everything else, the Matrice 600 is open to development. Similar to the Matrice 100, the M600 has a customizable onboard and mobile SDK.
The sky’s the limit with the DJI Matrice 600, just don’t try to push it around.
